If you own a motorcycle, you know how important it is to take care of your bike. This doesn’t just mean getting tune-ups and changing oil on a regular basis. It also means keeping your motorcycle clean, and free from dirt and grime. If you’ve just gotten back from a trip, or simply have a dirty bike, here are some great tips for washing the road off your motorcycle.
When cleaning your bike, you’ll need to do a little bit of prep work. Start by finding the right products and supplies that will help you get the job done right. This includes different types of automotive cleaners, including bug and tar remover, engine cleaner, and chain lube. In addition to the cleaning supplies, you’ll want to have the right tools available. Keep different sizes of brushes on hand, as well as microfiber cloths and abrasive rags.
Once you have all of your tools available, you’re ready to get started. Find a shady spot that has access to water, and remove any accessories and add-ons that can’t get wet. Wash your car using the needed automotive cleaners, and then rinse everything off. Once your motorcycle is clean, you can finish by drying it off and applying any wax or spray finish.
